Just to remind you, the theme is REFLECTION and the optional element is WATER.

Don't be intimidated by the theme - there are so many ways you can interpret it - check out all the inspiration cards and the cards in the gallery and have some fun!

Mixed Media Card Challenge No. 23 [Reminder Post]

Wishing all you gorgeous Mothers out there a very happy Mother's Day!

We have a few more cards from our design Team to inspire you for this months theme 'REFLECTION'. The optional element is WATER. There are many ways to interpret this theme ie the showing a reflection, a play on the meaning of 'reflection' or you could just included the word in your card.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge #23 {Reflections}

Welcome to a brand new challenge here at The Mixed Media Card Challenge! For our challenge this month, the theme is REFLECTIONS, and optional element: WATER. Lots of ways you can go with the theme -- you can create mirror images, incorporate images (mirror, camera, water), or even use the word itself. So have a go at creating a mixed media card that follows the theme with or without water. The team can't wait to see what beauties you'll be linking up!

1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
5. Submit your projects by May 25, 11:55 p.m. Pacific  time.


Brusho with watercolor paper, reflections created with yellow and white ink, Distress Ink toned sky with stenciling, sun inked and then stenciled with metallic paste, clouds created with water, birds hand drawn, fussy cut mountain landscape from patterned paper, sentiment rub-ons.

Sponging, stamping and stencilling with Distress Ink. Foil Sentiment and embellishments. Hero Arts Shadow Ink and Wink of Stellar for butterflies. Machine stitched border.

Zig Clean Color Real Brush Water Color Pens, ink, stamps, clear embossing powder, stencil.

Watercolors over acrylic paint resist, Glossy Accents, embossing paste through a stencil, random stamping and heat embossing.

Colored with Distress Crayons, Gelatos, Chalk Marker. Sentiment strip made from vellum & embossing.

Distress Inks, Fran-Tage embossing powder, Sakura Stardust pen, water bleaching.

Watercolor paper. Stamplorations Stamp with Black Archival Ink coloured with watercolors pencils from Prima Marketing. Sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Faber-Castell Gelatos, Heat Embossing, Die Cutting, Dye Ink, Watermark Ink, Washi Tape, Sticker Stitches, Sequins, Water

Maria F. says, "Vicki's card just screams sunshine to me and I love the touch of the watercolored blue clouds as contrast."

Jenny says, "I can't stop looking at Dee's card - I love the sunshine contrasted against the amazing stormy background!"

Sanna says, "I really like the contrast of the white paper against the crackled sunray paper piece and the sweet flowers on top! Such a pretty card!"

Julia says, "What wonderful texture and design on Mac Mable's card - love the brick chimney rising into the clouds and beautiful cone flowers."

Shirley says, "A perfect example of using textures appropriate to the image: fluffy clouds, rough bricks, shiny sun - and I love those pretty flowers!"
